YOUR CLEAR ALIGNER GUIDE

Clear aligners: a removable approach to tooth straightening

Clear aligners are a sequence of custom-made transparent trays that gradually move teeth towards planned positions. They can be removed for meals, brushing and cleaning. Treatment needs professional assessment and monitoring; trays alone do not replace a diagnosis.

Could clear aligners suit you?

Selected crowding, spacing and bite concerns may be suitable. The required movements, tooth and gum health and your ability to follow the wear plan determine whether aligners or fixed braces are a better fit.

A digital preview illustrates the proposed plan. It cannot guarantee the final result or exact treatment time.

YOUR TREATMENT JOURNEY

Clear aligner treatment, step by step

From assessment to retention, each stage follows an individual treatment plan.

01 · Assessment and planning

A clinical examination and appropriate records help assess your bite, gum health and the movements required.

02 · Your custom trays are prepared

A sequence of trays is made for the agreed plan. Attachments, elastics or carefully planned enamel reduction may be discussed where needed.

03 · Wear and change trays as prescribed

Follow your prescribed daily wear and tray-change schedule. Aligners are commonly worn for at least 20 hours daily, or as directed for your plan.

04 · Progress checks and adjustments

Reviews assess fit, movement, gums and bite. Extra aligner stages may be needed; report a poor fit, damage or unexpected pain.

05 · Keep the result with retainers

After active movement, follow your retainer wear, cleaning and review plan. Teeth can move again if retention is not maintained.

Daily care, comfort and follow-up

Wear and clean carefully

Follow the daily wear and cleaning instructions for your trays. Remove them for meals as directed, clean your teeth before reinserting, and store trays safely in their case.

Keep your reviews

Do not jump ahead through trays on your own. Tell us about poor fit, damage, gum problems or persistent pain. Retainers and follow-up remain important after active movement.

Benefits and limitations

Clear trays can be less noticeable and removable for cleaning. They can also be lost or damaged, cause temporary soreness or speech changes, and may not suit complex movements. Inconsistent wear can affect progress. Some plans require attachments, elastics or additional aligner stages.

What affects the cost?

The complexity of movements, records, planned reviews, additional stages and retention affect the estimate. We discuss suitability, availability and what is included before treatment.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if clear aligners suit me?

The bite problem, movements needed, oral hygiene and ability to follow instructions determine suitability.

Can adult teeth be straightened?

Often yes, if the teeth and supporting tissues are suitable. A specialist assessment defines the plan.

What is the difference between braces and clear aligners?

Fixed braces use brackets and wires. Clear aligners use a sequence of removable trays; suitability depends on the required tooth movements.

Are clear aligners suitable for everyone?

No. Complex movements or bite problems may need fixed braces or other treatment. An examination and records guide the choice.

How many hours must aligners be worn?

Aligners are commonly worn for at least 20 hours a day, or as prescribed for your plan. Follow the tray-change schedule; removing them too often can delay progress.

Are ceramic braces the same as clear aligners?

No. Ceramic brackets stay attached to teeth and use wires. Clear aligners are removable plastic trays.

Will I need extractions or IPR?

Not every patient needs either. Space requirements, tooth proportions and the bite determine whether extraction or carefully planned enamel reduction is appropriate.

Do braces or aligners hurt?

Temporary pressure or soreness can occur after fitting or adjustments. Persistent or worsening pain needs review.

Which option is faster?

Neither is always faster. Complexity, biology, wear compliance and missed visits affect treatment time.

Do I need retainers after aligners too?

Yes. Retention is part of both approaches. Follow the prescribed long-term wear and review plan to reduce relapse.

How much does clear aligner treatment cost in Mymensingh?

We provide an estimate after assessment. Ask what records, reviews, repairs, additional aligner stages and retainers are included.

Can I straighten teeth using online trays without check-ups?

Tooth movement needs professional assessment and supervision. In-person reviews help identify bite, gum and tooth problems during treatment.
